Unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, you have certainly noticed that "Merry Christmas" has in many cases been supplanted with the innocuous "Happy Holidays."  The logic is we don't want to offend anyone who may have different religious beliefs...or no beliefs at all.

So may I suggest that for your Jewish acquaintances you say "Happy Hanukkah."  To your Christian friends "Merry Christmas."  And to your athiest friends "Good Luck."

December 25th is Christmas Day.  Has been for centuries.  Will be for centuries to come.  But expect the attempts to completely secularize Christmas to be even more overt this Christmas season.  There will be subtle innuendos from the media, and there will be outright advertising blitzes encouraging people to simply "be good for goodness sake" by implying that we don't need God to be good...that we don't need Jesus to have a holiday.  And unless we are willing to speak up, the humanists will own the popular mind with their godless worldview.

Christians don't be intimidated, don't be bashful.  It's Christmas.  "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who askes you to give the reason for the hope that you have..."  1 Peter 3:15.  Say it, live it, and let's all have a Merry Christmas!
